On Saturday 27 November, a group of Make It Better beneficiaries visited the YMCA Wu Kai Sha Youth Village to explore the Herbal Garden.
Thanks to horticultural therapist Jeannieand our 14 volunteers, the Make It Better beneficiaries enjoyed a wonderful day exploring nature. They participated in an ‘eco-craft’ session, creating artworks from the imprints of petals and leaves.
The children immersed themselves in nature’s wonders through the herbal garden, engaging all five senses. This exploration of nature’s beauty helped foster empathy by connecting emotions to the environment.
Our goal was to inspire students to see nature as a sanctuary for relaxation and enhanced concentration, while cultivating a bond with the natural world.
“Ultimately, we believe that spending time in nature is a gateway to unlocking creativity and finding boundless inspiration.” — Mimi Tung, Head of Programmes and Lead Art Therapist at Make It Better.
A heartfelt thank you to the Ladies Recreation Club, Time Auction, and Social Career for providing the volunteers who made this day possible for our kids!
